Per diems

Complete the standardised form to support the claim of your per diem, and avoid delays due to incomplete information. 

Once the form is completed, forward the claim information by email directly to the record label, or automatically submit the form to The Ivors Academy to process claims across any Sony Music Group UK labels. Please be aware there are different processes for different labels.  

You can also use the form to request support from The Ivors Academy if you are not receiving per diems from your record label. 

Please note: The Ivors Academy role is to provide support with a standardised form to ensure songwriters gather the complete details to make the per diem claim. For details about payment arrangements and individual record company terms and conditions, please contact your record company representative, or the person who invited you to the session.

The form collects the information needed to process your per diem claim.

You will be asked for details about yourself as a songwriter. This includes your publisher, CAE/IPI number, date of birth, and full address. The form also asks for specific information about the writing session for which you are claiming.

• You can include up to 5 separate sessions per form.

• If completing for different labels, you need to complete separate forms.

All information must be accurate.

Yes, there are specific instructions for the different major labels.

If you are an up and coming songwriter without label support OR if you are making a claim for any writing session hosted by Sony Music Group UK labels. 

Complete the form and you will be emailed with a summary of your per diem claim.

The Ivors Academy will automatically process this information, review your claim and issue your per diem.

If you are making a claim for any writing session hosted by Universal Music Group UK labels, Warner Music Group UK labels, or any independent UK labels. 

Complete the form and you will be emailed with a summary of your per diem claim.

This summary must be sent to your writing session representative, A&R administrator running this session or record label directly. They should confirm approval/payment directly with you.
